Reception of goods:
Overview:
The reception is the first operation which is carried out in a warehouse. The role of the reception is to deal quantitatively and qualitatively
with the goods.
The reception follows upon an act of purchase, it is the physical check operation which makes it possible to check the good execution of the commercial contract and answers the concept of transfer of property.
Second checking: quantitative reception: It is about quantitative control itself (counting: number of boxes, pallets, etc....) accompanied by the control of packing (appearance).
Third checking: qualitative reception: It is the whole of the operations intended to ensure itself of the conformity of the product received compared to the specifications of the order.
Realizable quality controls punctually or systematically: statute released, in the course of control, blocked. Time-stamping and signature of the modifications of statute.
Details of the reception:
1- To discharge the reception:
- It consists in discharging the delivery from the trucks.
- To put the delivery received in a well defined site.
2- To control the reception:
Qualitative control:
- To control the quality of the products.
- To control the DLC of the products.
- To control the origin.
- To control the nature of the products.
- To control the state of packaging.
- To control average weight (max, min)
- To sort and return in the event of no conformity.
Quantitative control:
- It is a question of comparing the delivery order with the really delivered goods.
- To carry out this quantitative control two cases are possible:
Control based on the technology of scan:
It is about scan the labels of the boxes which are stuck on the boxes or the pallets.
The scan can generate information:
- Address arrangement with the coordinated exact ones of the site.
- Reference of reception, like number of reception and weight.
- Order number.
- Supplier code.
- Packed quantity.
EdiPax generates a very effective scanning program :
- The client launches the scan operation.
- The scanned data will be sent towards EdiPax under XML format through a Web Service.
- EdiPax receives this information, records them and generates traceability of statistic information under Excel pivot tables.
- This information will be sent towards the client.
To compare the scanned information with that received in DESADV.
Two results are possible:
No conformity: then if it is possible to correct the error on the site of reception then accepted delivery, if not: the delivery is refused and returned towards the supplier.
There is conformity:
Thus the delivery is accepted and entered to the warehouse for storage.
In this case, a RECADV (Receipt Advice) is sent towards the supplier.
Control based on RFID technology:
- To install a RFID
gantry at the entry to control the received quantity:
- A program which is given the responsibility to compare fields with these that are really received by DESADV.
Two events are carried out at this time:
1. Recording of detected information.
2. Generation of traceability information through Excel pivot tables.
3. The comparison between DESADV information and the one really detected.
3- Acceptance of the delivery:
- Acceptance of delivery.
- Delivery has entered the warehouse of accepted deliveries.
- Module of inventory control: indication of the storage sections (head of ray)
- Inventory of stocks.
4- Sending a RECADV:
- RECADV: Receipt Advice.
- Tool for confirmation of reception acceptance.
- Containing information of the delivery acceptance.
- Tool based on the generation of the INVOIC.
5- Permanent Inventory:
- Each product in its place according to the date.
- Reliability of stocks: A common concern between logistician and financial.
- Parameter setting of the tool of inventory: by products, geographical areas
- Automatic acquisition and in real time of various count into different place and automatic generation and real time from the variations.
- The traceability of the operations is, moreover, improved and the update, like the cycle counting, can be carried out in real time.
- Update of stock.
- To avoid the rupture of stocks.
- Allowing a fast integration in the bases of inventory and inventory control of the data received coming from RFID materials.
- Thanks to the use of technology RFID, the system will recognize each outgoing product of stock, and will manage the inventory consequently.
- EdiPax generates RFID solution for the installation of continuous review, the reduction of the out-of-stock conditions, for the control of the freshness of the products, for the operations of withdrawal of products, for the fight against the flight and the acceleration of the passage in case.
- Delete of the physical inventories.
- Cost of inventory is decreased with a suitable planning.
